Kappa Delta Chi

"Leading with Integirty, United through Service."

Chapter History

In early 1992, Naomi Vasquez-Chapa, Patricia Banuelos, and Jerra Villesca saw a need to bring a Hispanic women's organization to the UT Arlington Campus. At the time there were no sororities on campus that were geared towards the Latina population at UT Arlington. Their idea was to introduce the first Hispanic based sorority to UT Arlington. Their journey led them to Kappa Delta Chi. The girls got right to work recruiting other interested ladies who shared their vision. On September 6th, 1992 the Epsilon Chapter was introduced to Kappa Delta Chi. A weekend of learning and sharing evolved into a bond of sisterhood which led to the start of the Multicultural Greek Council here at UTA.

National History

Kappa Delta Chi is a member of the

National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations

In 1987, four young women from the Rio Grande Valley, Cynthia Garza, Nellie Flores, Irene Montoya, and Melissa Montoya, had a vision while attending Texas Tech University. Their vision was to create something so special and unique that it would leave a legacy for others who followed. They recognized the need to unify and promote leadership among Hispanic women at Texas Tech University. Their vision became Kappa Delta Chi. With the strong foundations of community service, Christianity, and friendship, they created a sisterhood, that 28 years later, is stronger than ever. They sought to incorporate the traditional values of Unity, Honesty, Integrity, and Leadership into this beautiful sisterhood.
